On 13th-14th February Karuna Myanmar Social Services hosted the 3rd Annual KMSS CI/CIDSE Partners Meeting. The gathering brought together our KMSS Chairman, the Directors from all 16 Diocesan Offices, the KMSS National Office Director, together with 13 of our member organization partners of Caritas Internationalis (CI) andCatholic International Cooperation for Development & Solidarity (CIDSE). Also participating were one representative each from the regional CI Asia Office, and the CI Liaison and Head of Institutional Strengthening. CI is a confederation of 164 Roman Catholic relief, development and social service organisations operating in over 200 countries. CIDSE is an international alliance of 16 Catholic development agencies from Europe and North America, working in over 120 countries.
On the first day, agenda included updating on the Myanmar Context with focus on KMSS key advocacy issues of Land and Education. Also included in the agenda were the discussions on the KMSS Annual Report 2013, the updating on the KMSS Country Strategic Plan Roll-Out Proposal 2012-2014 and Humanitarian and Emergency Responses. On second day, there was continued focused discussion on humanitarian situation, and also time for Partners feedback and support planning for 2014.
